Borax Pentahydrate

Available in agricultural grade and industrial grade versions, Borax Pentahydrate is required to produce glass enamel ceramics. Borax is considered as one of the key boron based minerals. It is free from unpleasant smell and it tastes salty. This chemical easily dilutes in glycerol and water and slightly dissolves in C2H5OH. Its water based solution is alkaline by nature.  Borax Pentahydrate contains 1 ppm iron, 29.3% H2O and 192 ppm chlorine. As a versatile chemical, it is used to formulate laundry detergent and also various cleaning solutions. During welding of steel and iron, mixture of this chemical and ammonium chloride is used as a strong flux.
