A white, absorbent powder, this Light Soda Ash dissolves readily in water and is of a fine consistency. It is very alkaline in water solutions and reacts with acids to release carbon dioxide. It is employed as a fertilizer, for air purification, for water softening, and for drying garments. It raises the alkaline level, which maintains pH, which aids in pH maintenance in swimming pools. Other compounds including sodium silicate, sodium bicarbonate, and sodium chromate are also made using this Light Soda Ash.
